Obituary of Thomas O'Malley

Thomas V. O’Malley, of Pepperell, formerly of Burlington and Oklahoma, passed away at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, New Hampshire on Tuesday afternoon, December 26, 2006. He was 54 years old. Tom was born in Stoneham. He was the son of the late Clement C. and Mafalda O’Malley. He was raised and educated in Burlington. Tom was a graduate of the Burlington High School Class of 1972. He entered the United States Army where he served for 10 years achieving the rank of Sergeant. Tom served in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of National Defense Service Medal, 2 Army Good Conduct Medal, Armed Force Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon, 2 Overseas Service Ribbons, and 2 Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons. After leaving the service he lived in Oklahoma for 30 years before recently moving to Pepperell. While living in Oklahoma he managed a Laundromat. Tom enjoyed listening to music and playing golf. Tom is the loving father of Debra Sawyer and Suazan O’Malley both of OK. He is the son of the late Clement and Mafalda O’Malley. He is the brother of Clement R. O’Malley of Groveland and Patricia MacDonald of Pepperell. He is the grandfather of Elle Sawyer of OK. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will be held in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Memorials in Tom’s name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of MA, 85 Astor Ave., Norwood, MA 02062.
