Obituary of Ibrahim M Khatri
Dr. Ibrahim M. Khatri, 90, of Lexington, Massachusetts (formerly of Bethesda, Maryland) passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024 in Burlington, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loved ones.
Dr. Khatri was born in Bombay (Mumbai), India on May 29, 1934. He attended Elphinstone College and Grant Medical College in Bombay, India, and graduated with his medical degree in 1961. He was married to Dr. Mariam (Dada) Khatri and they immigrated to the United States in 1961. Dr. Khatri completed his medical internship and residency at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. and was board certified in Internal Medicine. After completing his training he worked at Group Health, Washington Hospital Center, and others. Dr. Khatri also had a private practice in Hyattsville, Maryland and was medical director of Sacred Heart Home in Hyattsville, Maryland. Dr. Khatri was a fellow in Hypertension at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Khatri was also in Primary Care and taught many medical students as a VA clinical faculty member of Georgetown University. He is the author of 19 peer-reviewed research publications on hypertension and presented at many national and international meetings. Dr. Khatri retired from Washington VA Medical Center in 2001.
Dr. Khatri is survived by his daughter Dr. Farzana Khatri, son-in-law Mr. Richard Jensen, and granddaughter Miss Sarah Jensen, all of Lexington, Massachusetts.
