To all the Torpeys
I'm saddened to hear of Jim's passing. We so enjoyed being your neighbors. As others mentioned, Jim was the neighbor who always took extra time to help you. It could have been by bringing in your trash barrels, to helping plow the end of the driveway. We enjoyed sitting on the porch talking on nice afternoons. Mary, you were blessed to have so many wonderful years with Jim. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
With fond memories

RIP to a wonderful, kind family man who was always there for my family growing up! Our family shared a great bond with the Torpey family and I will forever remember our dads watching us in the pool every night during summers filled with street kickball and flashlight tag, or winters sledding down the Greenwood hill. Mary, Susan, Sandra, Marybeth, and lil’ Jim - my thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family. I’m sure my dad was waiting for him with open arms. Love you all, Stacey DelSolia Tully

It was a Blessing to live on Greenwood Rd, where all our kids played together & stayed friends through the years. Remembering Jim & Paul talking about their truck driving jobs & how much the Teamsters meant to them. Jim & Paul were always doing their yards & helping anyone that needed help. Jim & Mary & their family became Family to us. It was a wonderful relationship that lasted through the years & truly Jim & Mary were Gods Gift to our family & our treasured memories that will last forever. Jim will always be in my heart. Much Love, Pat

Dear Mary and Torpey family,
Dan and I are so sorry to hear about the passing of Your husband James. We will always remember you and your husband sitting on the chapel side at the 4pm Mass. How he always wanted to hold the car keys even though you were the driver. God bless him and again our deepest condolences to you and your family.

We moved next door to Jim and Mary 31 years ago and quickly learned how a close knit and caring neighbor acts. From moving in our barrels every week, mowing some of our lawn, keeping watch on the house when we both were out, sharing the pool with my son when his grandkids were there, talking over the fence, shoveling and most important, genuine kindness. We will miss him but we are blessed with such special memories and grateful for his friendship.

Papa Jim was not only a wonderful a grandfather, but truly was a kind and amazing person. He never spoke poorly about anyone and only brought joy and kindness into this world. Papa - I love you and will continue to carry on your legacy of treating people with respect, dignity, and love.
