Dear Dale and Family,
It's been a long haul for Joan and for The Family, so I can't say that I am saddened for she now is at peace and continuing her soul's journey with our Lord. This I am sure brings The Family comfort to finally know that she is not suffering in the body anymore.
Joan was well cared for and tended to by both family and medical professionals that The Family chose to love on her. I was one of those Certified Nurse Aids that was blessed to spend small amounts of enjoyable time with Joan off and on over the past five years or so. Joan, even with her failing memory, always welcomed me with a smile and was very kind. We communicated with each other via our eyes and our heart and then that connection was made each time I would be with her. Of course, when I reminded Joan that I was a friend and co-worker of Dale's, I was immediately accepted into her world. Dale could do no wrong in her eyes and in fact, Joan was so proud of her family and grandchildren. She would make a point to show me pictures of the family and you could tell just how much Joan loved each and every one of them. It was my honor to serve her in a tiny way, but to know her was grand. She was a strong and courageous woman.
Thank you Dale for the opportunity to learn from your mom when I was in her presence.
My Condolences,
C.B.

My deepest condolences to Dale, Stephen, and Lori on the passing of your wonderful mother Joan. Joan was such a kind, friendly person. I have such happy memories of your mother when I was a child in our neighborhood. I especially remember your mother and father as Santa and Mrs Claus at the St Malachy’s Christmas Bazaar. May Joan rest in peace .

Nana,
Thank you for being the most loving and devoted grandmother to all five of your grandchildren. You made each of us feel unique and cherished, always carrying our photos to share with friends and even strangers. I have so many fond memories of our time together —from sleepovers at Laurel Hill Lane, summer trips to the Balsams, weekend dinners in the North End, countless holidays enjoying your amazing meals, and everything in between. Your unwavering love was a constant in our lives, and we were incredibly lucky to have such involved grandparents. I cherished every moment I got to have with my "Nana and Grampy."
One of my favorite memories is from my wedding in 2019. I’ll never forget seeing your face light up with tears of joy when you first saw me in my wedding dress. It was a moment I’ll always treasure and am so thankful to have experienced. Thank you for always being such an important part of my life. I was deeply honored to name my second daughter after you, a testament to the profound impact you have had on my life. I will miss you dearly but will hold onto all the “nana-isms” that will stay with me forever. I find comfort in knowing you are reunited with Grampy.
All my love,
Your Beans
