Obituary of Susan A. Murray

Susan A. (Rose) Murray of Rumney, NH, formerly of Dracut, MA and Stoneham, MA and her husband, Mark, tragically passed in a car accident on Thursday night, October 17, 2024.  She was 57 years old. Sue had resided in Rumney, NH for the past 3 years and had previously lived in Dracut, MA for over 20 years, growing up in Stoneham, MA and Aurora, CO. Sue spent her younger years with her family at the family cottage enjoying summers on the Pow Wow River in East Kingston, NH. Sue was born in Somerville, MA.  She was the daughter of Richard and the late Jeanette (Correia) Rose.  She graduated from Stoneham High School class of 1985, attended secretarial school and earned a real estate license.  Sue worked as a realtor and office manager for Prudential Suburban Realtors and Vidoli Associates.  She loved working with her clients helping them find the home of their dreams.  She was also the owner and manager, along with her husband Mark, of Legacy Landscape.  When she moved to Rumney, NH, she worked part time at the Rumney Village Store, Plymouth State University Cafeteria, the Last Chair, and helping those around her with daily tasks or errands.  She loved keeping busy and being connected with what she was working on, the interaction with her colleagues, and the sense of shared purpose.

They say that opposites attract and that was especially true with Sue and Mark.  Mark was passionate and driven, while Sue was compassionate and empathetic.  Joy for Sue was derived from kind words, a sunrise or full moon, or lending a helping hand.  “Tiny but Mighty” was a term often used to describe Sue.  She was like the energizer bunny, always on the go, multitasking, and engaging. She was warm, understanding, patient, forgiving, selfless, and nurturing. She was the person you went to for advice or just to vent. She simply loved others and was so easily loved by others.  Sue was always positive and had a wonderful sense of humor.  She enjoyed antiques and was a lover of animals.  She was a caring and supportive mother who encouraged her children to follow their passions, and was there whenever needed, offering support, wisdom and unconditional love.  Sue was even willing to get up on the Karaoke stage on her own, with her ‘go to songs’ from Pearl Jam.  She was always sending inspiring texts, and her posts on Facebook were uplifting pictures with kind words.  Sue saw the world with rose colored glasses. She saw the good in others, the beauty around her, saw her glass half full, believed kindness and love were gifts to be shared.  Sue will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered.

Sue was the beloved wife of Mark H. Murray who passed alongside her.  She was the mother of Kylie Murray of Dracut and Mark Murray of Dracut & his girlfriend Madison Grover.  Sue was the daughter of Richard Rose of Parker, CO, and the late Jeanette Rose. She was the sister of Richard Rose, Jr. & his wife Diane of Eliot, ME, Janet Letterie & her husband Ernest of Fredericksburg, VA, Stephen Rose & his wife Cheryl of Billerica, and Robert Rose & his wife Veronica of Parker, CO.  Sue was also survived by many aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, MA on Friday, October 25 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will end with a service beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  The interment will be private.  Memorials in Sue’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.  For online guestbook and video tribute see www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
