Obituary of Cynthia Ann Daly

Cynthia Ann (Charbonneau) Daly a longtime resident of North Billerica and formerly of Tyngsborough, passed after a very short battle with cancer on August 8th, 2024.  She was just 63 years old.  Cindy was born in Lowell.  She was the daughter of Jeannette (Rochette) and Donald Souza.  She had a wonderful upbringing in Tyngsborough.  She was a 1979 graduate of Tyngsborough High School.  Some of her closest lifelong friends were classmates from her school days.

Cindy had worked for the past 26 years as a secretary at Mystic Motor Transportation in Billerica.  To say it was a family business could be an understatement.  There were 3 generations working along side each other all with a common goal of providing excellent service to their customers and providing for their families.  At some point, she acquired the nickname of “Mrs. White” to all the staff at Mystic.

Her family was the center of her universe.  She was ever present when her children were growing up.  She took joy in doing little things like styling her daughter’s hair, making incredible Halloween costumes, supporting them in their activities and sports, and being the rock to whom they could always go for advice, a kind word, or just a big hug.  She had the biggest smile and loved to laugh.  She loved a good joke and was a bit of a prankster.  She kept a Rudolph light up blinking nose in her car and wasn’t bashful about wearing it to get a laugh from a passerby. Her “Mom Humor” could be a little embarrassing to her kids, but there was no way she was ever going to change.  She loved being “Meme” to her five grandchildren.  There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them.  From having a fairy princess tent in her living room, gearing up in a sumo inflatable wrestling suit to challenge them, or spending hours on the floor playing games or dressing dolls.  She loved decorating Easter eggs with them, spending the day in the pool, celebrating their birthdays or anything else that would a smile to their faces.  She loved the family vacations spent at Cape Cod in a house filled to the brim with family.  She was a loving and devoted daughter and was there to support her parents in their later years, by shopping and cooking for them, doing the laundry, and keeping them safe and loved.  She always placed her family first right up until her passing.

Cindy also had a number of interests and passions.  She loved making quilts which have now become family heirlooms.  She enjoyed birdwatching.  She loved her Shih Tzu dog named “Buddy” who was like another child.  Her chicken wings and macaroni salad were a must at every event.  She was a big Red Sox and US Women’s Soccer fan.  She loved the time spent with friends in Vermont.  She loved the peacefulness, the mountains, and especially the sunflowers when in bloom.  Cindy was an incredible mother, a fun and loving grandmother, and caring sister, cousin, aunt, and friend.

Cindy was the loving mother of Craig Sullivan of Wareham, Lindsay Morin & her husband Sean of Milford, NH, Meagan Alurac & her husband George of Nashua, NH, and Sarah Medina & her husband Dan of Lynn.  She was the proud “Meme” to Phillip Sullivan, Charles Medina, Alex Medina, Lily Medina, and Emma Morin.  She was the caring sister of Frank Charbonneau & his wife Ann of Dublin, NH and Thomas Charbonneau & his wife Pamela of Londonderry, NH.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Gerard Charbonneau. She was the former wife of Michael Daly of Hampton, NH.  She was the dearest and best friend of Vicki Schena of Tyngsborough. Cindy was also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

At a future date there will be a Celebration of Life to honor Cindy’s life. Memorials in Cindy’s name may be made to the Care Dimensions, www.caredimensions.org, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923
