Obituary of Robert L Arsenault

In Loving Memory: Robert L. Arsenault (1931-2023)

On December 17, 2023, we bid a fond farewell to Robert L. Arsenault, a retired sheet metal worker and cherished member of the Local 17 union, who passed away at the age of 92. Born to Tilmon and Artemese in Providence, Rhode Island, Robert's journey led him to Everett, MA, where he grew up and embarked on a life filled with dedication, service, and adventure.

Robert's journey into the world of sheet metal began after graduating from Everett High School. He joined the Local 17 union, where his passion for craftsmanship and tireless work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues and left an indelible mark on the industry.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Robert was a pillar of his community and a devoted family man. His commitment to service was evident through his long-standing involvement with the Knights of Columbus, where he not only held every chair over the years but also served as a member of the honor guard. Robert's dedication extended to coordinating social events, including bingo nights and charity functions. He further connected with the community by serving as a cub scout leader and scout master, leaving an enduring impact on the lives of young scouts. Robert proudly served in the National Guard for 12 years.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Robert found solace in camping and traveled extensively, towing his tent behind his car to various destinations, with Sebago Lake being a particular favorite. His adventurous spirit took him around the world, from the rugged landscapes of Alaska to the rich history of Italy, the breathtaking landscapes of Ireland, and the engineering marvel of the Panama Canal.

Family was at the center of Robert's world. Together with his wife Dorothy, they raised six children, emphasizing the importance of togetherness. The Arsenault family embarked on cross-country journeys in their motorhome, exploring 47 out of the 50 states. Robert also found joy in hosting family events, attending his children's hockey games, and instilling a love for sports in the next generation.

In his leisure, Robert enjoyed a good round of golf, showcasing a well-rounded and active lifestyle. A strict but loving parent, Robert's guidance extended to his role as a lovable grandfather, leaving behind cherished memories that will be held close by his family.

As we mourn the loss of Robert L. Arsenault, let us also celebrate a life richly lived—a life marked by dedication, adventure, and a profound love for family. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy of love and service continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
