He was the son of the late João and Clarisse Da Cova.   In 1970, at the age of 25, he came to the United States after serving his country in the Portuguese Army.  He settled in Somerville, MA and started his career in the food industry.  Manny was currently working for Woburn High School.  He loved his job and his daily interaction with the students and faculty.  He had been working at the high school for 12 years.

Manny was the beloved companion and life partner of Carolina Lima of Woburn. Manny valued life.  He had a wonderful life together with his beloved Carolina Lima for over 20 years.  They enjoyed annual trips to Portugal to visit family and attended all the Portuguese festivals.  Manny had a passion for soccer and loved to play sueca.  He enjoyed gardening and his daily walks around Horn Pond in Woburn.  Manny will be remembered as a patient, quiet, friendly, and humble man.

Family was very important to Manny.  He was the brother of Irene Pereira and her husband Adrian, John Rodrigues and his wife Rita, Filomena Teixeira and her husband Mario, Odete Galvão and her husband Fernando, Orlando Da Cova and his wife Linda, and Joe Da Cova.  He leaves behind a large extended family that he loved dearly, with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
