Obituary of June Esther Collins

June Esther Collins, a retired Town of Burlington municipal employee, passed away at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness on Friday morning, March 20, 2020.  She was 83 years old.  June was born in Boston.  She was the daughter of Arthur and Mildred Cotter.  She grew up in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School. She went onto to earn her Associates Degree from Southern Seminary College in Virginia.  Later in life she attended the Art Institute of Boston earning a degree in Photography. She moved to Burlington in 1960 where she raised her 4 children. She worked for the Town of Burlington for 32 years.  She started at the police station as records supervisor and finished at the town hall.  After she retired, she worked another 15 years at Macy’s in their Cosmetics and Perfume departments.  She was an avid photographer, developed her own prints and had several exhibitions.  She was the family historian documenting family births, weddings, graduations, celebrations, vacations, and another events or activity that was important to her and her family.  She traveled extensively throughout Europe with her camera photographing the history, sites, and architecture.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was often found cheering them on at their sporting events.  She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and positive outlook.  She was an avid reader, and always up on current events, right up until her death.

June was predeceased by the love of her life Louise Rose Sr. and her ex-husband William G. Collins.  She was the loving mother of Peter Collins of Burlington, Pamela Hall & her husband Bruce of Carlisle, William Collins, III & his wife Michelle of Burlington, and Paula Robinson of Burlington & her companion Stephen Butcher. Sister of the late Ann Conrad and Arthur "Pete" Cotter. Proud grandmother of Kristina Tomei, Peter Collins, Jr., Gary Kaye, Jennifer Kaye, Stephanie DiBenedetto, Kellie Collins, Tayla Koch, Austin, Olivia, & Billy Robinson. Great grandmother of Leo and Ben DiBenedetto and Corbin and Kayssa Fletcher, and Peter Collins, III.
