Obituary of Mary E. Forson

Mary E. (Reale) Forson, a loving wife of 71 years, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, January 9, 2020. She was 91 years old. Mary was born in Cambridge. She was one of six children born to Italian immigrants, Cosmo and Emily Reale. She grew up and was educated in Cambridge and Somerville. She married her husband, Harry Forson, in 1948. They were just 19 and 20 years old when they married, and their relationship has constantly evolved as they aged, and they became parents, grandparents, and seniors. They endured the years when Harry served in the Navy and they moved with each assignment. They were happy to finally settle down in Woburn in 1965. Like all marriages, they might always have agreed on everything, but they respected each other’s views and opinions. Also, they say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach may have been one of their other secrets to success, because Mary was such a fantastic cook. Her Pasta Fazool, Pasta e Piselli, Shrimp Sauce, Calamari Pies, Shrimp and clam sauce and every other pasta and delicious Italian dish she learned from her mother growing up. Sundays were spent going to church, shopping, and then having a big family dinner. She also won the hearts of all the priests at St. Barbara’s Church where she worked as the cook for over 20 years when Fr. Anadore and Fr. Mellone were pastors. She had a close bond with her siblings and had many friends. She was always on the telephone catching up with everyone daily. She loved going to Bingo with her girlfriends. Mary was blessed to have lived a long life along side her beloved, Harry. Also, she was blessed to have a son, daughter-in-law, and grandson who loved her and cared for her in her last years. Mary was the beloved wife of Harry Forson. She was the loving mother of Wayne Forson & his wife Ofelia of Woburn. She was the proud grandmother of Timothy Forson. She was the loving sister of Lisa Jones of Woburn, Theresa Powers of Billerica, Antoinette Lewis of Sandwich, John Reale of Burlington, and the late Louis Reale. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Tuesday, January 14 from 11 a.m. to noon. A funeral service will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday at Noon. Services will conclude with a burial in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
