Obituary of Barbara Mulligan

Barbara A. Mulligan, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away after a long illness at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Monday night, Oct. 26, 2009. She was 68 years old. Barbara was born in Medford, the daughter of the late William and Elsie White. She grew up in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School. She then went on to Boston State to receive her degree in education. She taught at Julie Billiart’s Children’s House, a Montessori program located at St. Margaret’s Parish Hall for 4 years. She then taught Third grade at St. Joseph School in Medford for 20 years, retiring in 2006. Barbara cherished the time spent with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife. She created a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She cherished the time shared with her family, rooting for the Red Sox and spent at the beach. Raising her daughter and 2 sons was a wonderful and rewarding time in her life. Then to have been blessed to have 6 grandchildren was the greatest gift of all. She leaves her dear husband of 45 years, Paul J. Mulligan, her brother William White and his wife Christine of Springfield, NH, her daughter, Pamela J. Fallon and her husband Tim of North Andover, son Kevin P. Mulligan and Liz Barnes of Reading, MA and son Paul J. Mulligan and his wife Eileen of Beverly, MA. Also wonderful grandmother of Grace, Clare and Margaret Fallon, Connor Mulligan and Katherine and Brendan Mulligan. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Oct. 30 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
