Obituary of Roberta Crist
Roberta L. “Bobbie” (Waters) Crist, a beloved Preschool Teacher at Burlington Day Care, passed away at her home after a long battle with cancer on Monday morning, November 5, 2007. She was 64 year sold.
Bobbie was born in Newburgh, NY. She was the daughter of the late Sterling and Cara Waters. She was raised and educated in Cornwall, New York. She and her husband moved to Massachusetts in 1964 living in Chicopee and Bedford before settling in Burlington in 1979.
Bobbie loved children. She worked at the Burlington Day Care for 16 years. Over those years she cared for infants and toddlers. Every child was special to her and she loved watching them grow. She loved getting down the children’s level and she wasn’t afraid to be silly with them. Her warmth and sense of humor was refreshing to the parents and the staff at Burlington Day care. She will be fondly remembered by all.
Bobbie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and her home was filled with love, laughter, and humor. She loved spending time with her family and happily documented her memories in her many scrapbooks. Disney World was one of her favorite family vacation destinations. She also enjoyed researching her family’s ancestry.
Bobbie was the beloved wife of Stephen Crist. She was the loving mother of Margaret “Meg” & her husband Robert Comeau of Burlington, Jacqueline & her husband Illya May of DE, David Crist & his wife Karen of Lowell. She was the sister of the late Sterling Waters, Jr. and Betty Ann Howard. She was the proud grandmother of Sarah Comeau, Danielle Crist, Evan May, Andrew May, and Harley Crist.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bobbie’s name may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9C, Lawrence, MA 0l843.
