Obituary of Gloria Riggle-Surette
Gloria A. (Cusato) Riggle-Surette, a resident of Burlington for 53 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Monday morning, July 2, 2007. She was 84 years old. Gloria was born and raised in Wakefield. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Annie Cusato. Gloria was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Wakefield and attended Burdett College in Boston.
Gloria worked in Quality Control for Sylvania in Woburn and retired from Polaroid in Waltham. She enjoyed reading and traveling. Gloria was very active at the Burlington Council on Aging where she participated in their many trips, cabaret shows, and enjoyed their exercise programs. She also worked at the Council on Aging for many years as a receptionist. Gloria was a very caring woman who was always concerned about others. Her family was the most important part of her life. She treasured the many special times she spent with her family and in most recent years her grandchildren. Gloria was blessed to have a life that spanned 84 years with the last six years of her life being with her husband Ed who made her so very happy. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Gloria is the beloved wife of wife of Edward Surette and the late Virgil Riggle. She is he loving mother of Anna M. & her husband Bob Contant of Burlington, Donna M. Kelley of Billerica, Wayne Riggle & his wife Linda of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Kenneth Riggle of Lexington & his friend Linda Tremblay. Sister of Elizabeth Hawkins of Franklin, OH, Robert Cusato of Melrose, Edward Cusato of Mexico, NY, Ronald Cusato of Peabody, David Cusato of Stoneham, and the late Geraldine Wood, Sandra Gaddis, John, Arthur, Ralph Jr., Richard, Donald and Joseph Cusato. She is the grandmother of Michael Contant, Lance Corporal Jeffrey Kelley, Rebecca Kelley, and the late Debra Contant. Gloria is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, July 7 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 pm. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Gloria’s name may be made to the Burlington Council on Aging, 61 Center St., Burlington, MA 01803.
