Obituary of Alice Eastman

Alice E. Eastman, a retired Administrative Assistant and a woman who celebrated life, passed away at her home with her daughters at her bedside on Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012. She fought a tough battle with lung and brain cancer. She was 81 years “young”. Alice was born in Manchester, NH, the daughter of Greek immigrants, the late Anthony and Evangeline Bobotas. She grew up in Goffstown, NH and was a graduate of Goffstown High School. She had been a 55 year resident of Burlington. She was a retired administrative assistant at Textron in Wilmington. Until recently, she worked part time at the Burlington Board of Health and Building Departments. Alice embraced life and loved those around her. Alice was always known to be dressed “to the nines”, and never left the house without looking her best. She was an avid Red Sox fan. She loved to shop, especially with her granddaughter, Hannah, who spent many a summer with her and was her pool buddy. She loved to travel, and had recently returned home from a cruise. She was a member of the North Shore Old Car Club and looked forward to the summer events of which she attended with her sweetheart, Bob. She was a great cook. As a hobby, she made jewelry and knitted, most of which she gave away to friends. She worked out at the gym at least 3 times a week. She was always out and about with family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, and grandmother, and was always there to care for and guide her family. She had countless friends and her passing is difficult, but her memory will bring smiles to those whom she has touched. Alice was the loving mother of Sandie Rainey of Burlington, formerly of TN, Steven Eastman of Haverhill, and Donna Normile-Leger & her husband John Leger of Leominster. She was the proud grandmother of Hannah Normile of Leominster. She was the sister of Julie Gentilucci of Newtonville. She was the sweetheart of many years of Robert Patterson of Burlington. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, March 17 from 3-6:30 p.m. and will conclude with a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private.
