Obituary of Margaret "Peggy" Wilson
Margaret “Peggy” (Dahl) Wilson of Woburn passed away peacefully at Sawtelle Family Hospice House on Sunday, April 13th at the age of 86. Peggy grew up in Cambridge and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Following her education she diligently worked for the phone company for many years.
Peggy is survived by her two sisters, Ann Connor of Groveland and Helen Cohan and her husband, William, of Holbrook, and many nieces and nephews. As well as many other relatives and close friends.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur “Artie” C. Wilson, with whom she had shared over 49 wonderful years of marriage, prior to his passing in 2016. Peggy and Artie began as friends and the two were happily married on October 1st 1967, the day the Red Sox won the American League Pennant after 21 years. In 1983, several years after their marriage began, they moved to their forever home in Woburn.
Peggy was an avid reader and could always be found with a good book and a cup of tea. She would frequent local craft fairs, no doubt searching for a new bird figurine to add to her collection. She cherished the time she spent going to lunch with her nephew Billy, family, and other friends. To her core, Peggy was a strong and fiercely independent woman, who always knew what she wanted - and usually got just that. In the last years of her life, her incredible neighborhood friends, Kay and John, provided Peggy with the support she needed to stay in the home she loved for as long as she could.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation for Peggy on Saturday, April 26th from 1pm-3pm at Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, ma. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy’s honor may be made to Sawtelle Family Hospice House.
